Author Guidelines

1.Manuscript Length:

  • A full manuscript of a research article should not exceed 60,000 characters (including spaces). This includes abstracts and keywords in three languages, the reference list, figure captions, and author information.
  • Reviews, book reviews, and biographical articles should be up to 20,000 characters (including spaces).

Manuscripts exceeding the specified length may be accepted with editorial approval if the author justifies the necessity. The final decision is made by the editorial board based on the reviewer’s recommendation. 2. Manuscript Formatting: Font: Times New Roman, size 14, single line spacing. Indentation: 1. File format: .doc or .docx. Margins: 2*2*2*2 cm. Text alignment: justified. All unnecessary spaces and line breaks should be removed using the "Find and Replace" function.

3. Manuscript Structure: The manuscript should follow a logical structure close to the following: Introduction, Methods and Materials, Literature Review, Results, Discussions, Conclusions. These section titles should be italicized. Reviews, book reviews, and biographical articles may deviate from this structure.

4. Citations in Text: Citations should be enclosed in parentheses and include the author’s surname (without initials, except in cases of homonyms) or a shortened title (if there is no author), followed by the publication year and page number if needed: (Abzhanov 2020: 36; Kozybayev M.K. 1988; Kozybayev I.M. 2022: 35).

5. Manuscript Components:

5.1 Title Page: Indicate the type of publication (Research Article, Review Article, Research Note, Book Review, Biographical Article). Include the (CSCSTI) Code of State Categories Scientific and Technical Information (CSCSTI) index (https://nauka.kz/upload/files/43._GOST_7.77-98.pdf).

5.2 Article Title: The title of the article should accurately and unambiguously reflect its content. The title should be in bold font and justified without indentation. Reviews should have independent titles that do not duplicate the name of the reviewed work.

5.3 Author(s) Information: On the first page after the title of the article, the following should be indicated: the initials and surname of the author(s), then the place of work (study) without abbreviations, city and country (in italics), email address, and ORCID should be given as an email address: https://orcid.org (etc.).

5.4 Abstract: Not less than 300 and not more than 400 words. The abstract should contain: the subject, theme, and purpose of the work (indicated if they are not fully disclosed in the title); the methods of the work (described if they are new or of interest from the point of view of the work); the results of the work (the main results, author’s conclusions, and original discoveries are provided); the conclusions may be accompanied by recommendations, assessments, suggestions, and hypotheses described in the work. The abstract should avoid: phrases that duplicate the title of the work; general words, unnecessary introductory phrases (e.g., “the author of the article considers…”), complex grammatical constructions; well-known provisions; do not cite the names of previously published works. For reviews, comments, and personalities, the absence of this component is permitted.

5.5 Keywords: up to 10-12 separated by a semicolon (;). Key words should reflect the main content of the article and disclose the following aspects of the work: region, chronology, subject matter, special terminology. Key words should not be arranged in alphabetical order, but by degree of importance, separated by the punctuation mark "semicolon", at the end the punctuation mark "period" is not put.

5.6 Funding: If applicable, provide Individual registration number (IRN) and project name.

5.7 Author Contributions: Authors should briefly describe each author's contribution to the preparation and writing of the article using CREDIT, CRediT author statement.

5.8 Conflict of Interest Statement: Indicate any actual or potential conflicts of interest. If none, state: "The author declares no conflict of interest."

5.9 Acknowledgments: This section should mention the people who helped you with the article.

5.10 Illustrations: If the article contains illustrations, each of them must be presented both in the text and in a separate file in JPEG or TIFF format, 300 dpi. Text inside the figure – 8–9 font size. If the figure contains numbers or text, they must be typed in electronic form, not written by hand. Archival materials are an exception. Illustrations inserted into an MS Word or Excel file and not submitted as separate files will not be accepted.

5.11 The presented diagrams must be prepared in MS Excel. In this case, it is necessary to attach the tables based on which they were built along with the MS Excel diagrams. Alternative presentation options can be discussed separately during the review period.

5.12 A list of illustrations and captions to them is provided in the appendix to the article with the title “Illustrations”, “Diagrams”, “Tables”.

5.13 Language Requirements: Sections 5.2–5.9 and 5.12 must be provided in English, Russian, and Kazakh. The editorial team provides Kazakh translations for international authors. Literal translations should be avoided - texts must be understandable to the target audience.

5.14 References: Each article (except in English) in the journal is accompanied by a list of Latin sources. In order to ensure that citations are tracked in international databases, the editorial board recommends that authors provide information on the verified translation of cited sources into English (if available) in a separate list. The numbering of the sources must correspond to the numbering in the original author's version in Russian.

5.15 Author Information in Three Languages (English, Kazakh, Russian). Full name, academic degree, academic title, full institution name, address, postal code, ORCID, email.

5.16 References. Each article (except in English) in the journal is accompanied by a list of Latin sources. In order to ensure that citations are tracked in international databases, the editorial board recommends that authors provide information on the verified translation of cited sources into English (if available) in a separate list. The numbering of the sources must correspond to the numbering in the original author's version in Russian.

5.17 Archival Sources: The list of used archival sources should be formatted as an appendix, specifying the full title of the document, the archive (abbreviated afterward), fund number, inventory number, file number, and sheet numbers.
