Article Submission Process

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal’s website: https://jhistory.enu.kz/ . To publish an article, authors must register on the website and adhere to the manuscript formatting guidelines, which require the following:

  • A complete manuscript with full author identification, formatted according to the author guidelines (link).
  • An anonymized version of the manuscript, with all identifying author information removed.
  • A cover letter (commitment) signed by all authors in the order they appear in the manuscript, including the corresponding author’s details.

Manuscripts must be submitted via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which allows authors to track their submission from initial submission to publication.

2. Technical Review and Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check using the “Antiplagiat VUZ” system, employed by the publisher to ensure academic and research integrity.

  • The minimum originality threshold is 80%. Manuscripts that fail to meet this requirement or contain plagiarism, uncredited borrowings, or unauthorized use of others’ work will be rejected.
  • Editors review manuscripts for compliance with formatting guidelines and journal scope.
  • Authors receive confirmation of manuscript submission within seven days, along with a notification regarding compliance with journal requirements.
  • If revisions are required, authors must submit a revised version or formally withdraw their submission. If no revision is submitted within one month, the manuscript will be removed from consideration.

3. Peer Review Process

  • The Editorial Board notifies authors of the review outcome within one month.
  • If revisions are recommended, the editorial team provides a review report to the author, who must either address the comments or provide a reasoned rebuttal. The revised manuscript is then re-evaluated.
  • Authors who choose not to revise their manuscript must inform the editorial board. If no revised version is submitted within one month, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the review process.

4. Article Acceptance for Publication

The decision to publish is based on:

  • Adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Positive peer reviews.
  • Approval from the editorial board and the Editor-in-Chief.

Authors will receive a formal acceptance or rejection notification.

5. Processing and Review Fees

Upon acceptance, authors must pay the processing and review fee within five business days (payment details are available on the journal’s website).

6. Proofreading and Finalization

  • The editorial team may perform scientific and stylistic editing, subject to author approval.
  • Authors must submit a signed license agreement via the journal’s system after the final proofreading stage.
  • The official submission date is considered the date the editor accepts the final version for publication.
